English Schools Championships

Filed under: Competitions — johnb at 11:36 pm on Thursday, March 23, 2006

The first English Schools Championships were held at Fenton’s Rink in Kent on 21-23rd March.

Ten teams entered from 6 schools and 4 different schools were represented in the semi finals.  All games were 4 ends and the eventual winners were Tunbridge Wells Boys Grammar who defeated Bennett Memorial 5-0 in the final. Judd were third having beaten TOGS 5-2 in the 3rd / 4th place play-off.

The majority of the players were in their first year of curling and we look forward to their further development.

Many thanks to Stephen Hinds and John Sharp for all their work with the juniors at Fenton’s.
