Friday

It was heartbreak in the tie break for England at the European Mixed Championship when they lost 4-5 to the Czech Republic in today’s game. An early steal of 3 in the third end left them 1-4 and although they fought back to 4-5 after 7, they were unable to grab that extra shot for the victory.

Thursday

Latest news from Madrid - England beat Latvia fairly easily and then lose a tight game to Scotland at an extra end - tie break to take place against Czech Republic Friday morning.

Wednesday

Mixed fortunes indeed so far for the English mixed team at the European Championships in Madrid. Two wins (v Czech Republic and Norway) and a loss against France mean that the last round robin game against Scotland will become a must-win on Thursday. First of all Latvia have to be conquered and that is by no means a certainty.
